Harmony Including Open Notes (August 2012)

Guitar modes provides a simple method for you to decide which open notes can be used when playing double stop harmonies.
There are endless possibilities so we need somewhere to start.

Here is an example: An open G chord has 3 open strings, D, G and B strings. Play these 3 strings while you move through the double stop harmonies on the fretted G and A strings.

Now try inverting the harmonies, you will lose one of the open strings and have 2 open strings to play with.

The same approach can be applied to any scale, any mode of that scale.

We make this very simple with our harmony method on the lesson page.....enjoy.
